"I love experimenting with new techniques and using unusual mediums. The method used in this painting entailed a sketch in charcoal, building the shadows and rendering the shape of the fruit, then layering transparent acrylic paint over the top to create the jewel like colours. This is a dark and moody number, reminiscent of the Dutch Masters and their broody still life."
