This painting emerged from an initial urge to play with pink and bold colours in a very abstract, unplanned kind of way. Hard Candy took me on my own inner adventure of following the lead of the form once more and trying not to judge the outcome. My interest in blended watery clouds anchored by lines and symmetry have come to the fore again. I named it Hard Candy as it feels almost too sweet a landscape for me to create. Like something from a  child's story in which the mountains are made of spun sugar and licorice. It is hard for me to play too long in the realm of prettiness and all things sugar and spice but as I have sat with this painting, it becomes more and more  beautiful rather than sickly sweet. I hope the viewer delights in the colourful play and techniqes that come together in this work.
