"Dahlias have always been my favourite flower. Showy and exuberant, they demand attention. My grandfather's garden was full of them, several varieties and I always treasured our visits when we would come home laden with bunches of them wrapped in newspaper, along with a big box of whatever seasonal veggies he had growing in his suburban garden. Dahlias evoke for me, memories of childhood and of simpler days."
